Biography

Geri Lamer serves as the Senior Education Program Coordinator at KU’s International Short Programs. Her first international education experience was a Summer Study Abroad in France during her Freshman year at KU. That opportunity, while originally was partly to finish her language requirement, ended up prompting her to continue to take French classes throughout the remainder of her undergraduate studies. Other occasions to live internationally included South Korea where she was stationed while in the US Army as part of the 102nd MI Battalion and Taiwan where she lived for 3+ years teaching English. KU is one of her very favorite places on earth having spent time here getting a bachelor’s degree in journalism, a Master’s Degree in Linguistics and, for the last 20+ years, working with students from all over the world with International Short Programs. When not working in international education, Geri enjoys spending time working with fibers – quilting, weaving, knitting, etc.
