Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute hosts first international class since 2015
Earlier this month, Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute hosted its first international class in a decade as four Taiwanese firefighters came to Lawrence and Salina for the 80-hour Structural Collapse Awareness Operations Technician Certification, training alongside Kansas firefighters and task force members to gain accreditation for Taiwan’s USAR program.
KU launches Building Bridges summer academy for local, international teens
Building Bridges, a global youth academy, is a new 10‑day KU summer program launching in July 2026 that brings together teens from around the world for an immersive college life experience focused on leadership development and cultural exchange.
