Host Families

The Importance of Host Families

Visiting a new place that is in a culture very different from your own is difficult to navigate. By connecting participants with local families, usually in the form of our "Dinner in an American Home" event, ISP participants get to meet and experience American life in a way that truly connects them to KU, Lawrence, and the United States. For host families, it is an opportunity to meet, befriend, and enjoy the company of people from around the world without leaving home.

Are you interested in being an ISP host family?

ISP is always looking for more families interested in hosting our participants. Any time a program wants a host family event, ISP contacts its network and asks about availability. ISP recognizes that not everyone will be available all the time, so you can choose the dates, times, or programs that work best for you.
