Youth Programs with ISP

An ISP youth program consists of a group of teenage participants from outside of the United States wanting the unique experience of learning in the U.S. and at the University of Kansas before entering university. Leadership, English, and Personal Development are popular youth program themes.

Ideal Time & Length

To take full advantage of KU resources, the best time of year to have a youth program is either during the summer term (June & July) or during the winter break (December & January), and run anywhere from one to six weeks.

Participant Age Range

For the most fulfilling program, ISP recommends participants be within 14 and 18 years of age.

Program Chaperones

KU policy requires a participant to chaperone ratio of 10 students to every 1 chaperone. ISP will plan programming with chaperones in mind, but finding and hiring chaperones is the responsibility of the partner.
