Professional Development Programs

Professional Development with ISP

Professional Development ISP programs consist of a cohort of participants from outside of the United States who want to develop various skills in their professional lives, network with others in their fields, and exchange knowledge with U.S. colleagues.

Ideal Time & Length

To take full advantage of KU resources and faculty, the best time of year to have a professional development program is during either the Spring (mid-January to mid-May) or Fall (mid-September to mid-December) Term. We recommend program lengths of around 1 to 8 weeks.

KU Faculty & Staff

The University of Kansas has over 3,000 passionate academic faculty and staff who are experts in their fields and instruct across several hundred programs. KU also has several centers dedicated to specific professions. ISP can facilitate meetings, classes, workshops, and events with these faculty to aid in the professional development of a cohort.

Site Visits

ISP knows that acquiring new career skills does not only happen in classrooms. Visiting local sites can provide important avenues of learning for students and professionals. ISP can connect programs and participants to people and places in the Kansas City metro area. Major industries include human and animal biosciences, distribution, and technology.
